Standardisation of the short version of the OPD Conflict Questionnaire (OPD-KF36) based on a clinical and representative sample Background: The short form of the Operationalized Psychodynamic Diagnosis - Conflict Questionnaire (OPD-KF36) allows the assessment of unconscious conflict themes and represents a valuable instrument for psychodynamic indication and treatment planning. Yet, representative norm values and clinically meaningful cut-off scores necessary for a more comprehensive clinical use have been lacking. The present study aims to address these limitations.

Research findings on the prevalence of eating disorders in elite sports are contradictory. Existing eating disorder models in the general population do not consider that elite sports require specific training schedules, body types, nutritional and eating behaviours, to improve athletic performance. Thus, an eating disorder model tailored to the specific demands of elite sport is important to detect eating disorders and prevent potential harm in athletes. Here, a theoretical model based on existing evidence and knowledge was developed. The model aims at specifying indicators that may determine whether athletes' eating behaviours are drifting to becoming disordered rather than serving their athletic performance. The model describes potential relationships between the key indicators weight sensitivity, performance pressure, body image, attitudes towards training, and fatigue. This model is a step towards improving psychological care for this vulnerable group and provides a basis for scientific proofing.
