Survival analysis between single-factor and multi-factor groups in Stage T3N0M0 non-small cell lung cancer
This study aims to identify prognostic factors in operated patients with non-small cell lung cancer staged as T3N0M0 according to the 8 edition of the Tumor, Node, Metastasis (TNM) staging system.
Long-term follow-up of valved homografts in right ventricle-to-pulmonary artery reconstruction: A comprehensive case series
This study aims to evaluate the long-term outcomes of patients undergoing right ventricle-to-pulmonary artery reconstruction with valved homografts.
Retrograde aortic dissection after thoracic endovascular aortic repair
Endovascular treatment methods are often preferred in suitable patients with complicated acute type B aortic dissection due to the high mortality and morbidity associated with the open surgical procedure. Retrograde aortic dissection is a rare complication of endovascular procedures. Herein, we reported surgical treatment of a retrograde aortic dissection that developed after thoracic endovascular aortic repair in a 53-year-old male patient with a history of liver transplantation two years ago and taking immunosuppressive medication.
Three-dimensional modeling of bronchovascular anatomy for preoperative planning and intraoperative guidance in uniportal video-assisted thoracoscopic segmentectomy
This study aim to evaluate the feasibility of threedimensional (3D) modeling using open-source free software for preoperative planning and intraoperative guidance in uniportal video-assisted thoracoscopic segmentectomies.
A comparison of preoperative chemoradiotherapy versus primary surgery for T4 non-small cell lung cancer
In this study, we aimed to compare the outcomes of patients who underwent surgery after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy versus primary surgery in locally advanced T4 non-small cell lung cancer.
Use of an atrial septal defect occluder for the closure of an ascending aorta pseudoaneurysm after coronary artery bypass grafting
An aortic pseudoaneurysm is a rare, but serious condition which can result in life-threatening complications. It is usually caused by previous cardiac surgery, trauma, or infection. Due to the high likelihood of rupture with primary surgical intervention, endovascular closure may be performed as the standard of care in eligible cases. In this article, we present a case of a huge aortic pseudoaneurysm with a wide neck which could safely be closed using an atrial septal occluder.
Optimized retrograde approach and device selection with Konar-MF™ for pediatric transcatheter ventricular septal defect closure
This study aims to evaluate the mid-term outcomes of transcatheter ventricular septal defect closure with the Konar-MF™ device and to investigate the impact of an optimized device selection strategy using a retrograde approach.
Risk factors of intraabdominal hypertension in cardiac surgery: A systematic review and meta-analysis
In this review, we discuss the risk factors of intraabdominal hypertension developing after cardiac surgery.
Risk factors of hemoptysis recurrence after bronchial artery embolization and patient feedbacks
The aim of this study is to identify risk factors for recurrence of hemoptysis after bronchial artery embolization and to evaluate patient feedbacks on this intervention.
Para-aortic paraganglioma: Preoperative embolization and surgical resection
Retroperitoneal paragangliomas are neuroendocrine tumors originating from chromaffin cells in the sympathetic nerves. These tumors are commonly located around the abdominal aorta and inferior vena cava and can cause significant bleeding during surgery due to their hypervascular nature. In such cases, preoperative selective embolization can facilitate tumor resection and reduce both morbidity and mortality. This case report presented a 38-year-old male patient with a retroperitoneal paraganglioma who underwent surgery following preoperative embolization due to tumor hypervascularity.
Surgical approach to complicated transcatheter aortic valve implantation endocarditis
Rare non-thrombotic pulmonary artery embolism: A pelvic coil
Acute histopathological and biochemical changes in saphenous vein grafts during coronary artery bypass grafting: A closer look at mTOR signaling
This study aims to investigate whether acute surgical manipulation of great saphenous vein grafts during coronary artery bypass grafting alters mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) activation and induces early histopathological damage.
Modified Blalock-Taussig-Thomas shunt blockage and mortality: A systematic review and meta-analysis
In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we discuss the estimated of global incidence, shunt related-mortality risk and factors associated with shunt blockage after modified Blalock-Taussig-Thomas (mBTT) procedure.

The aim of our study was to evaluate the hemodynamic effects and clinical outcomes of transcatheter fenestration in patients who developed Fontan failure.
Telerehabilitation for thoracic surgery patients: An effective alternative during the pandemic
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of application of physiotherapy via remote telerehabilitation in the early postoperative period following thoracic surgery.
The effect of panax ginseng on intimal hyperplasia in rats with abdominal aortic intimal injury
This study aims to investigate the effects of on intimal hyperplasia following intimal injury induced in the abdominal aortas of rats.
Is it safe to perform coronary artery bypass grafting surgery in patients with hemophilia? A case series of four patients
Hemophilia is a genetic disorder that mainly affects males and leads to a higher risk of bleeding. There is a lack of clarity regarding the safety of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery in patients with hemophilia. In this case series, real-life data of four male hemophilia patients aged 45 to 66 years who underwent CABG was presented. One patient needed to undergo reexploration due to nonsurgical bleeding. However, all patients were discharged in good condition. The current experience revealed that CABG in hemophilia patients is safe to perform with a multidisciplinary approach involving hematologists, anesthesiologists, and cardiovascular surgeons.
The prognostic value of the TAPSE/PASP ratio in lung transplant candidates
In this study, we aimed to investigate the prognostic value of the tricuspid annular systolic excursion/pulmonary arterial systolic pressure (TAPSE/PASP) ratio as a marker of right ventricle-pulmonary artery uncoupling in patients listed for lung transplantation.
